White Stone Marketing, leaders for more than 25 years in the hospitality industry and the first digital marketing company to exclusively promote independent lodging properties, announces that its client, Chatham Inn, has earned membership into the world-renowned Relais and Chateaux portfolio of properties. Located on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, Chatham Inn is one of only 48 Relais and Chateaux properties in the entire United States and the only U.S. property selected for membership since 2017.
“When our clients do well, we do well,” said Allison Crumpton, co-founder of White Stone Marketing. “We are so proud of owner Jeff Ippoliti for earning the Relais and Chateaux distinction. Chatham Inn has certainly set the bar in New England and beyond, and we’re so glad to be part of their success. It truly is a team effort.”
Before Ippoliti even purchased the nearly 200-year-old inn, the oldest continuously operating hotel on the island, he first placed a call to Crumpton for advice. He shared with her his vision of being one of the nation’s premier boutique inns, and he also knew he needed to work with the best in the industry to achieve his goal. Crumpton advised him that he would need to brand his yet-to-be purchased inn with new logos and an eye-catching website to set him apart from the competition.
Once Ippoliti purchased the inn, which had all the trappings of a granny guesthouse complete with chintz fabrics and lots of lace doilies, he immediately began the painstaking task of renovating and upgrading the property and its amenities. He added a premium wine bar and restaurant, one of just a long list of requirements needed for Relais and Chateaux status, and he employed a decorated culinary team with Michelin-star status.
Once the renovation was complete, Crumpton and her team got to work creating a digital presence for Chatham Inn. New logos were launched for both the inn and restaurant. The designs needed to be stylistically complementary and, at the same time, work independently of one another. White Stone Marketing was also able to work with the inn’s existing website by implementing targeted Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and adding a strong Pay Per Click (PPC) campaign.
“We really need an overhaul of the entire property,” added Jeff Ippoliti. “That included both the aesthetics—the rooms, amenities, adding a restaurant—as well as marketing and branding. I was familiar with White Stone Marketing and its reputation within the hospitality industry. I credit Allison and her team with establishing our online presence, creating our image and being consistent with messaging, which is all in sync with what our goals were from the start – to become a Relais and Chateaux property.”
Once the renovations were complete, things quickly fell into place as guests discovered Cape Cod’s newest luxury retreat. Within a couple of years, Chatham Inn began receiving accolades from Wine Spectator with an Award of Excellence along with Four Diamonds and Four Stars from AAA and Forbes respectively. The inn also rose to the top of TripAdvisor as Cape Cod’s #1 Hotel and found itself between the pages of Travel + Leisure, Fodor’s, Forbes and more as the travel media clamored to share the guest experience with their readers.
Earlier this year Ippoliti turned to White Stone Marketing once again for guidance engaging their services for a brand new website, a key factor in obtaining Relais and Chateaux distinction. The new website was recently unveiled and looks as inviting as the inn itself with user-friendly navigation, crisp photography, storytelling copy and state-of-the-art SEO.
