DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Los Angeles-based partners Michael Garfinkel and Angela Agrusa have been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2019 list of Top Litigators and Trial Lawyers.

The LABJ editors highlighted Garkfinkel’s ability to “relentlessly pursues his clients' goals,” and noted that since arriving at the firm in January 2018 he has “expanded the Media, Sport and Entertainment sector and enhanced the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology group.”

Garfinkel is an entertainment and media litigator with more than 25 years' experience navigating his clients' most challenging issues. He represents studios, production companies, talent agencies, advertising agencies and artists in matters involving intricate industry-specific agreements, trademark, copyright and right of publicity disputes, trade secrets and defamation.

The LABJ editors also highlighted Agrusa’s “agility,” and noted that she has a “demonstrated ability to defeat and resolve matters at the bet-the-company level.”

Agrusa, the Los Angeles-based co-chair of the Food and Beverage sector and co-head of Business and Commercial Litigation, tries high-stakes complex commercial, class action and civil cases on behalf of international brands, major companies and prominent individuals. In a wide variety of complex disputes with hundreds of millions of dollars at stake, Agrusa has represented her clients in an array of matters, including brand and individual reputation defense, business torts, consumer fraud and false labelling, competitor false advertising, unfair competition and privacy; she also maintains a sophisticated class action practice, strategically defeating class certification in single and multi-district litigation across the country.
